Mukund Subramanian is a multi-faceted, award-winning filmmaker and storyteller based in Mumbai, India. He has written, directed, and edited films in a multitude of formats including short-films, documentaries, advertisements, music videos, educational content, and experimental media. His global client-base include the likes of Netflix, luxury real estate houses, creative ad agencies, YouTube creators, educators, chart-topping musical groups, and local businesses he is passionate about.

 

Mukund is an award-winning member of the Italian traveling film festival: Cinemadamare's class of 2019. His films—including Protagonista, The Clapper, and The Bridegroom—created in the Southern Italian comune of Nova Siri, garnered him accolades for Best Film, Best Editor, and Best Script—winning him a prized seat at the 2019 Venice Film Festival where he met not one, but five Johnny Depps in the span of 20 minutes (he thinks some of them may have been impersonators, or all of  them—who's to tell).

 

Mukund is also an accomplished musician and has composed musical scores in a genre-defying and rare style of Carnatic guitar. He is fanatical about films and is a founding member of Treehouse Film Club, a Mumbai-based, labour-of-love outfit that screens eclectic and boundary-pushing films from all over the world, every week.
